Can it tell callers if they get a free NHS eye test?
It can say who usually qualifies, like under 16s and over 60s, if you add that to your notes, and always says the practice confirms eligibility.
What about a caller with a red, painful eye?
It never gives advice. If it sounds urgent it points them to A&E, 999 or NHS 111, and flags the call for you.
Do you take card payments for glasses on the phone?
No. Hello Anytime never takes card details. Payment stays with you.
Do I keep my number?
Yes. Customers keep ringing your usual number. You forward only the calls you miss to a Hello Anytime number we give you, which your customers never need to know.
When does Hello Anytime answer?
Your phone rings first. If you don't pick up within about 20 seconds, the call goes to Hello Anytime. On a mobile the divert code is **61*your Hello Anytime number**20#, and you can change the 20 to 5, 10, 15, 25 or 30 seconds. You can also send every call straight to Hello Anytime, for example at night, and switch it back with a short code.
What about a landline?
Mobiles use one short code. Landlines divert differently depending on your provider, and some (like BT) may charge for it. We'll help you set it up.
